The world is chaotic - it’s time to bring intention. Stop reacting from overwhelm & start influencing from balance.

What is Somatic Work?

Somatic work is not talk therapy, but they can overlap and complement each other well.

In somatic work, the focus is on how your thoughts, emotions, and past experiences show up in your physical body and how this mind‑body connection shapes your daily life. These physical cues are called somatic responses: your shoulders tightening under stress, your stomach fluttering when you’re nervous, your jaw clenching when you’re overwhelmed.

Somatic practices help you recognize these signals, understand what your body is communicating, and use breath, movement, and awareness to shift your internal state. While there is space for talking and sharing, the work always returns to how your experience feels in your body, not just how you think about it.

This approach bridges the gap that can form between your mental and physical selves, increasing your nervous system capacity, emotional resilience, and ability to meet life with balance instead of reactivity.

I always remind people: Your body has been with you through every experience in your life, just as your mind has, so it is crucial to keep your physical and mental lines of communication open.

Hello! My name is Tamara, I am a certified Integrative Somatic Practitioner, and my joy is to support other humans.

I believe our bodies are capable of more than we give them credit for. I believe that intention is perhaps the single most important skill we can nurture. It sets the tone for every experience and interaction we have, both with the outside world as well as within our own bodies. It is the key to the mind/body connection.

I discovered somatic work for myself as I was researching anxiety and sleep issues for a friend. I came across information about the vagus nerve, and followed that fantastic rabbit hole straight into somatic work. In my own life had been dealing with years of post partum depression, and the more I learned about this fabulous nerve and the actual scientifically proven mind/body connection we all have, I knew I needed to try the work for myself. It led me on a journey of self healing that was more deep and profound than anything I could have imagined. I felt the release of traumas I never thought I would be able to let go of. I learned the power of presence and intentionality.
