Side Eyes

The vagus nerve is the longest nerve in your body, wandering all the way from your head to your gut. It helps in your ability to speak, swallow, breathe, digest food properly and so much more, it’s like a wonder nerve. It is a key part in your parasympathetic nervous system (the side of your nervous system that helps you “rest and digest”). We all need balance in our lives, and the vagus nerve is here to help!

There are many ways you can stimulate your vagus nerve, and eye movements are one of my favorite ways. There is a whole network of muscles and nerves behind your eye that tie into the vagus nerve, and strategic, intentional eye movements can help stimulate it to send calming signals through your body.

IMPORTANT: Some people can feel light headed or dizzy during or after ocular exercises, so please be sure to be seated or laying down when you perform them.
